Good try on keeping them properly informed.

I hate to nit pick but you told the news guy that the hissing noise your Burm was making was due to "His hissing is due that he's upset that I'm not letting him go where he wants to go."

That statement was incorrect. Large Burms and Retics (or snakes above 8-9 foot) make that noise because their lungs are really long in their body. So when they move or exhale it takes a while for the lungs to evacuate and in turn creates the hiss /wheezing noise. (sorry this is the last section of my nit picking)

What you told can be viewed as bad in the normal public's eye. The reason I say that is most of the general population (from my and others experiences) has very selective hearing when it comes to reptiles, especially large snakes. More often then not they only hear "He hisses because he's upset". Those words can quickly cause fear, dislike, and a distrust of snakes shutting down any chance to show them what wonderful creatures they are. From that point they become a bit close minded.

I'm not trying to upset you, or be rude. Just wanting to give you another perspective.

Again ................. very good job on trying to properly inform him and the viewers.
