For a first meal, you can go at about 10 days old, assuming they have shed, but I would wait at least 2 weeks. The offer a live mouse "crawler"...somewhere between a large fuzzy and a hopper. Eyes are just open and they scurry around a bit, but do not jump. I've found timid feeders can be scared by the rapid movement of excited hoppers. Also, get colored mice. I've found they seem to prefer colored over white for a first meal. I feed all of mine the "crawlers" for the first 2 meals, then graduate to hoppers for about 2 meals, then small adult mice. At that point you can transition to FT adult mice or rat pups.
