If nobody has done any testing with uva and uvb lighting Ill just say that from what ive found your uvb lights are being blocked 50 percent or more by screen inclosures. A uvb repti bulb puts out about 20uw/cm2 brand new and have heard reports that these lights are deteriorating very rapidly. That means if your light is putting out only 10uW/cm2 your screen is reducing it to 5uW/cm2 and thats only if your animal is basking in the perfect spot. Someone correct me if im wrong but it seems to me we are being scammed at the expence of our animals health. I will conduct some of my own studies but in the meantime I think my animals will bask outside as much as possible. By the way there is a special plexiglass that only filters out 20 percent or less uvb. It may be even beter than that. [ Hide Replies ]
