There is some confusion when refering to superworms and kingworms. Generally, superworms refer to regular mealworms that have been grown to a larger size using growth hormones or steroids. Obviously, you wouldn't want to feed those to your cham. Kingworms(zophobas morio) are a seperate species with a darker color and larger size than mealworms. They are ok to use to supplement your chams diet. I assume ana is referring to the zophobas. Incidentally, the reports of zophobas chewing through the stomach of a live cham are completely false. Zophobas drown quickly in water, digestive juices will do them in even quicker.
There certainly is confusion, because this post is incorrect LOL... Kingworms are regular mealworms that are grown large artificially. Superworms (zophobas) are a separate species (and cannot be refrigerated). Superworms are great to use semi-sparingly, where mealworms or kingworms should probably not be used at all. ----- Tyler Stewart
