newspaper and misting?

I usually use aspen bedding in my boaphile cages, but recently switched to newspaper because I was moving and also getting 2 more snakes. My question is this, how is it possible to add humidity by misting when you use newspaper as substrate? doesn't it make the paper crinkle and ink bleed?
