A bad egg should not harm and adjacent good one, as good eggs seem to have a pretty robust immune system. IT certainly can't hurt to remove them, as long as you don't puncture the good eggs. The dental floss is mentioned as a way to seperate them...just carefully "saw" them apart. I've had very few dead eggs since going to no substrate a few years ago, but here is a pic from the past. As you can see, a large clutch developed just fine with one horribly rotten dead egg attached (upper right). | ||
