But all dogs, regardless of breed, are essentially the same species. And a group advocating conformation over health/performance is probably not a good example of an ideal breeding program model for any animal, whether it be snakes or dogs.

We already see some undesirable traits (one eye, no eyes, no tongues, neuro problems) showing up in some of the morphs - maybe because of original genetic problems, possible exacerbated by line/in breeding. Ethical breeders shouldn't continue to breed animals with these kinds of problems, but not everyone is so ethical. Dogs are much easier to spay/neuter.

I personally would rather see some healthy snake mutts than see these other problems continued. If the snakes are ready/willing/able/healthy, I don't have a problem with it. To each his own, though.

I don't mean to turn this into an anti-morph, anti-AKC rant either, so I hope no one takes it that way. They both do have their place when used responsibly.
