What is it like living there?

My dream is to make it there one day. I lived in Phoenix, Arizona for a while, and my job takes me over the world, but Australia is where I want to retire to.



One question, how strict is the no-collecting rules for native species? Can you collect for personal collections? What are the fines if not and you are caught, and are there any species that are not regulated?



I think that it is a big mistake for Australia to have a no collection law. It just forces import species that have a chance to get out and wind up like the cane toad.



They should allow limited personal collection with limited species. It would give rise to a captive born market that ultimately would help in native specie conservation.
