they look different because Gulf Coast selectively bred them into a super high gold line which is genetic. So basically you are getting 2 genes in one snake. Both of my het female citrus are exceptionally high gold along with my citrus male. Each generation that they bred these animals, the better they get. They have also bred this gene into their pastels and black pastels, which cause them to pop. Our male pastel and male black pastel are both results of them crossing those genes into this high gold line and it's very noticable. I've attached pics of my male ghost, male pastel and male black pastel so you can see how it influences these other genes. My goal is to produce a citrus black pastel using the animals that we've acquired from them. I hope this info helps you out.
