The marker is down by the vent, I used to have a pictyre of a real nice one.
The important thing to look for, and I think alot of people either accidentally(or intentially for selling purposes) leave this out. You want to see a pretty much unbroken black strip on either side of the snakes vent, that in 3 or 4 inches long.
Also, and I believe this is the imortant part, the strips must be really on the sides almost of the snake, with three full white scales on the belly inbetween. The belly is three scales wide. A longer one that the snake uses for traction in the center, with two smaller ones to either side of this center one. These three scales should be all white, with the black scales running along the sides of these for 3 or 4 inches.
Alot of people pass snakes off with the marker and the stripes are ON the belly, either with only two or less white scales inbetween.
I guess Belly Marker is really miss-leading in the end?
Go to NextWorld.com I believe. Jon on there has a really nice Hunter's Guide that explains the Pied Markers among other triats..Look through the Available section while you are there, he has some top-notch animals. Jon is nice enough to provide a free service, people should appreciate this and reciprocate the generosity when it is time to buy.
I heard rumour that Jon is going to be updating the site soon to include even more traits.
