Well, mine is not nearly exciting as all the new developments out there... I would have died of adrenaline rush had I had the first 'white' boa in my litter, but then again... a motley of any sort would have made me pass out! LOL I only watch the pros eagerly and celebrate my small success... but still a success!
My first breeding three years ago, older normal virgin X anery, was born premature; and I saved two.. one dying later on. I bred her two years later and again, premature, none to be saved. Starting to wonder if it was my husbandry, I tried again... this time my albino Loki (Courtesy of Barry Berg) and a female I bought as a het (anonymous Seller). Well, I got ripped off on the het, no albinos... but 20 PERFECT little babies! No premies, no slugs, and no stills! I think that in itself is something to be proud of right, for a beginner!? She was a virgin too, what a good mama! So while I paid $500 for a normal younger boa that I raised up for a season, at least I know her babies are what she should have been! I will never buy without verifying genetics through paperwork or reputation again!
Enough rambling, I took some shots of mama and a couple kids... I used the top of a kitty litter box as a nest box and put a little mulch in the bottom. Seemed to work well, except while 'nesting' she got it all over her face, you may notice it in the pix... this is Sasha and her babies!
