Posted by: Warren_Booth at Mon May 28 14:24:45 2007 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Warren_Booth ] Given the number of 'unusual' boas in this litter, and the ratio being close to the 1.2.1 (homozygous dominant:heterozygous:homozygous recessive) expected for a recessive trait, it seems clear that this is indeed a recessive trait. If the 'prodigy' boa had of been represented as a single animal in this litter then the question would arise that this was a new mutation. As a result it is highly likely that this is indeed a recessive trait. I agree that breeding trials are needed to confirm, but it is unlikely to be anything else. [ Hide Replies ]
