Whatever happened to SAWBACKS

I apologize for not being more knowledgable here, but I have always liked the sawbacks and have room to add some turtles so I am interested. Can someone explain the renaming,etc of maps because I see pearl river maps,etc and have no idea what is what. Protective status would also help as I want to remain within bounds. Thanks,Jeff
