Cinnys and Black Pastels

Are there any distinctive differences to tell them apart? I have a male that i purchsed as a cinny and i want to breed him to a black pastel. I dont want to buy a cinny as a black pastel though, and i want to make sure my cinny is indeed a cinny and not a black pastel. Hope all this makes sense. Thanks, John
