Hi everyone--



I just brought home a 5 month-old male rudis. Most of my experience has been with veileds so far, and unfortunately, I'm not having a ton of luck finding care information for my new guy beyond the basics (and the place where I bought him was less knowledgeable about rudises then I would have liked.) I've got him in a large vertical all-screen enclosure (that used to house a veiled) with a ficus, a pothos plant and an automatic mister. I'm wondering, however, about the appropriate temperature to keep his setup. Right now, I've got a full-spectrum 100-watt UV bulb on top of his enclosure that keeps the very top of the area at about 90 degrees. The things I've been reading say to keep them at a slightly lower temperature, but I can't find consensus on that. Do you guys think this is too hot? The light filters down, so the enclosure isn't 90 degrees throughout, just at the top. Should he have a warmer basking spot? So far, I've been giving him 12 hours with the lamp and 12 hours without (like you would with a veiled.) Is this the right thing to do with a rudis?



Also: are your rudises fond of fruits/veggies? Mine has so far refused them, and I wasn't sure whether or not to keep offering.
