The females for some reason fire up (turn color) more often then the males. The colors of the male are nicer but the females are more active that way. Both turn color when they get hot or wet and sometimes when they eat and all the time when they are sleeping. If you want them to fire up just get a mirror, by the way you should consider breeding down the road.
