I will most likely try next season 2007/2008. If everything is copasetic leading up to their season.
I should also be trying to breed my BRB's as well. Her weight was not satisfactory this past season, I got the pair from Jeff. Male was ready, female was close, after discussing certain criterion with Jeff / Dave I opted not to breed her because her weight was not ideal. She was just over 1000 grams which is only about 2.2 pounds.
I have bred them ( different BRB's ) in the past and I am sure the female was about 1000 grams as well, all where born alive and well, 13 babies, but the snake took a beating in the wight loss department.
So after Jeff / Dave told me minimum weight should be at least 1600 grams = 3.5 pounds. I decided it would not be a good plan to put her under undo stress. Reproductive cycles tax the animals more than a lot of people think. She is currently over the 3.5 minimum at this time and eating like a machine. Male is also a great feeder, I defrosted and warmed a rat to 105 degrees, he hit that rat so hard & so fast, I couldn't release my grip on the hemostats fast enough, resulting in a very unpleasant looking scenario. He ripped it in half and the inards wheree hanging off, he ate the entrails and all. YUMMY!!! ----- Thanks,
