Please help

I noticed something werid with my albino redtail male today. He eats perfect lives in a boaphile Rack. He had a werid thing with his scales it looked like they were all smashed together and were all crooked and out of place. I have never seen this and his belly was a werid tone. I soaked him in a tub of warm water and now he looks normal. Was it dehydration? I notice the days have been extermally warm but I offer him water daily. Plus the last time he ate I held him the next day and he spit up saliva a bit and I figured he was okay after I put him back. I would say its not a serious cause Now he seems 100 percent again. no raspy hiss, etc. So just wondering what the experts think?
