Hard to tell without a photo, but the smushed-scale thing may have just been a crease in his side from him curling up. As boas get larger, this can happen if they lay in one position for a while. Good that it went away after a soak.
The other issue - best not to handle a boa for at least 2 days after they've eaten. If he only had saliva that one time, and nothing at all after that (no wheezing, popping), then more than likely you just disturbed his digestion.
Keep an eye on him though - but as long as the fluid doesn't appear again, it was probably not a big deal.
