Here are a few answers:
1. i was wondering how much it would cost me to breed dragons
initial setup can be expensive. You have to buy an incubator, cages to house the babies, extra UVB lights, fixtures, basking bulbs and fixtures. Baby cages can be cheap (if using rubbermaid style containers with long UVB lights suspended above several tubs). The biggest expense will be feeding the babies. A single bearded dragon baby can eat anywhere between 15-100 crickets a day (spread out over 3-4 meals). Average would be about 40 a day. Average clutch size for a female is about 18 eggs (18 dragons x 40 crickets/day = 720 crickets a day = 5040 crickets a week. Average cost of crickets...$60-$70/5000 crickets delivered (depending where you buy). THus, you can see the main cost after initial setup is feeding the little buggers
2. how meny time will the female dragon lay eggs if its her first time?
Typically first breeding attempt the female lays about 2-3 clutches. Older females in their prime breeding age (18 months but less than 5 years old) can lay as many as 6 clutches.
3. how soon do i sell the dragons after thay are born. and how do i ship them??
It is best to wait till the babies are well established, at least 6" long...about 4-6 weeks of age, depending on growth rate. ----- PHLdyPayne
