I know there have been some changes so I don't know for sure if they inspect new applications now. I've had mine for quite a while and year after year, they just send me a renewal notice. When I first got mine, there was no inspection. Now, I don't sell or keep "hots" so that may be a different story. FFWWC is pretty quick and good about their paperwork. If you are applying for just a Class III license, you should be fine.
