You said..."Funny thing is I can breed all sorts of reptiles but cant produce my own crickets.LOL "....its so often the case...its easy to do the hard things, but the easier things are elusive!

Keep the substrate moist but not wet and the temperature close to 80F. This usually works for me.



I have a permanent "colony' of crickets in a couple of my (non-chameleon) lizard cages. I simple let the substrate dry out too much when I don't want them to breed and moisten one area when I do. I haven't had to put crickets in these cages for two years now. I do feed the crickets in those cages though! One of my turtle cages has a "colony" of superworms in it too.
