IF you have more than a couple babies still not eating I would look into some husbandry issues? Do they have the proper temps (say, 85-86 on the warm end - yes, some keep them higher but I've found they do much better in this range)? A nice tight hide? A dark enclosure?, etc, etc?
I only have one or two out of every few clutches that don't start eating on their own within 2 after their first shed. Try live mouose crawlers...bigger than a fuzzy but far less spazzy and intimidating than a hopper. I've found colored mice are preferred over white ones. Try at night.
To answer your question, I don't assist feed in the first month post-shed unless there is some overriding factor. Good luck!
