It is nice to see someone doing research before buying. I highly reccomend a ball, My daughter was 2 when we got our first one, it was her snake and still is. They are not bitters unless they are scared or hungry, I have been bitten two times in three years and both times were my fault. They are slow movers and if handled enough but not to much they like being out. Best of luck and post a pic when you get your new baby. Just be warned they are addicting..
