Kahl Stripeline question?

Anyone else notice some keep color some don't? I bought a pair back in 03 and one has kept great color the other has almost none. I wonder if this will effect the offspring? I purchased them from Pete so I know they are in fact his Stripeline. Just wondering? Any thoughts or observations on this?
