ya it works great, no big bright bulb burning my retnias, haha. I was thinking about it getting black, but if or when it does i'll replace it. Oh ya it won't come in contact with anything, it's clamped to a big wooden L shaped bracket that's screwed to my cage stand on the outside. i'll have to post a pic of my whole setup he sometime this week.
