Greg,

. Your setup sounds fine as long as you have the temperature controlled. I know many people keep their BRBs on moss substrate. I do not use it because I have many BRBs in many cages. I use newspaper because it is easy to change out often. I think moss substrate is great, it certainly looks better than newspaper. Just make sure that you change it out often. It might be a good idea to keep your new BRB on damp papertowel substrate until you are sure that it is eating well and passing normal stools. If you were to have a feeding problem and ask the breeder for help he or she would want to know what substrate you are using. There are so many different types of moss and mulch that are available that it would be difficult to determine exactly what you are using and if it is causing any problems. Stools are hard to see in moss or mulch substrate and if your snake has a digestive problem it can be most quickly noticed on plain white substrate.

>>Hello,

>>

>> I just got a 2 week old BRB and i have some questions to make sure everything is fine for her.. i'm keeping her in a rubbermaid container with holes poked along the side for air and in the inside i have paper towel for bedding and water bowl and two small hides (one on each side of the container) and a heat pad on 1/3 of the underneath of the rubbermaid...Are these suitable conditions for her?? i'm going to the store tomorrow to get some moss...which one should i get???...the humidity ranges from 78 - 82 on my humidity gauge...is this good enough?? it seems to be pretty humid in there as the top of the container is moist. Sorry for the long post and beginner type questions i just wanted to make sure everything is fine for her and Thanks for any help
