The younger they are the more often you should feed them until they reach adult hood. In the wild a young snake wants to grow as fast as it can before winter and then mating season. Personally I feed my yearlings every 3-4 days and my feeding Schedules are every Sunday, Wednesday/Thursday depending on the snake. The key is getting a solid feeding pattern and sticking to it. Just like people not all snakes are the same and some have faster metabolisms then others. If you choose to feed twice a week as I do make sure to choose smaller prey items. As they get older you can choose to feed them once a week with a prey item not much larger then the thickest part of the snake’s body, (same holds true with a yearling) however I feed all my snakes but my Boids twice a week or more.
