to get the pictures just right. I use white balance calibration cards to calibrate every shot to an exact standard - sometimes requiring multiple calibration points due to different lighting based on the angle of the shot (ie, if im standing in front of ambient lighting, creating a shadow, changing white balance... when I'm not standing in front w/ambient light affecting the balance...etc). I also crop and sharpen to some degree. Sharpening can be difficult - people tend to way oversharpen which actually worsens the shot. By downsizing the photos - some sharpening is highly reccomended because of the dulling effect from the downsize. Using a common background also helps with good comparisons for age. For all the boas produced this season I've been using this boaphile rhinoraxx grey rack that has worked splendidly. Doing all this does take a bit of extra time - but after doing hundreds...well, thousands of shots, in this manner, the workflow becomes second nature and fairly quick to me. It's good to hear that people notice my efforts in this regard and appreciate it. Thanks!
