trust me i have an entire room full of heat racks and stuff and i only notice a difference in the bill when i use my AC. i also am living in an apartment and taking BIO this summer. if you are worried you dont need a heat lamp, ive never ever used one with any of my animals unless your heat pad doesnt get warm enough.



about the sticky heat pad problem i would just keep your cage over a piece of would or tile or something with the heat pad under it. just make sure the cord is not pinched, i use gatorade lids to prop my cages up. haha. good luck!
