so my hondo thinks I'm edible

I've had my hondo since december and have finally gotten around to handling him more often (don't take that as sign of neglect; I feed him twice weekly, and clean the cage each weekend.) Anyhow, he's got this bizarre habit of poking around my hands for a bit and then biting me as if I were food (i.e. slowly and deliberately.)



I've kept other snakes in the past, but this is my first hondo. So my question would be, "is this typical behaviour for them...will he grow out of it (it's kinda funny at 2', but at 5'...not so much.)"
