Hello Ray,
what up with you these days?
I just had a short look at your paper (at your website):
GENUS LEIOPYTHON HUBRECHT 1879
Leiopython albertisi (Gray 1842) (Eastern Irian Jaya)
The same mistake you've made in your 2000 paper (on your web page). As far as I know the correct assignment would be
Leiopython albertisii Peters & Doria, 1878 (and not Gray 1842) (the species L. albertisii wasn't even recognized at that time)
And by the way. I hope you didn't obmit the "i" in your upcoming paper! (I just refer to the ICZN code, article 33->33.3, 33.4).
And what's that "Eastern Irian Jaya" ?
The syntypes of Liasis albertisii that Peters & Doria described in 1878 came from West Irian Jaya (Kapoar [= Fak Fak] and Andai (near Dorei) [= Manokwari]) and Hubrecht's Leiopython gracilis Hubrecht, 1879 came from Salawati island.
Leiopython albertisi barkeri Hoser 2000 (Mussau, PNG)
Leiopython albertisi bennetti Hoser 2000 (NE PNG)
Leiopython hoserae Hoser 2000 (Southern New Guinea and Southern Irian Jaya)
GENUS LENHOSERUS HOSER 2000
I hope you don't feel offended again, these are just a few things I was wondering about.
take care,
