Clean the burns once with hydrogen peroxide to clean them, but only use the peroxide once. After it has dried treat the entire wound and a little bit around it on the unburned skin so as to cover it completely with Betadine or Povodine/Iodine...the the stuff they use in hospitals to sterilize a wound. It will kill all germs and bacteria which will aid in the recovery.



THIs is NOT going to heal in a few weeks. Snakes with burns usually need a few months to close the wound and then shed away the scar. When the scab forms DO NOT PEEL IT OFF!!!! YOU will just rip off the scab and re-open the burn exposing the wound again. you can use scissors to trim off the shed skin around it but do not do it too closely....leave a bit so you know your not going to cut the snake accidentially. When it has healed enough .....amore or less about 2-3 monhs down the road the scab will drop off and it will either be white or black....but the scars usually turn black over time. IT should not affect the snake in the long run...but it may be uncomfortable now.
