Posted by: savoy at Tue Jul 17 21:31:54 2007 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by savoy ] a hydration chamber will help i use them on some of the herps i get that have been shipped a long ways. all you need is a suitable size tank, screen lid and a butter dish with small holes drilled in the bottom of it.and a small water pump and airline that will fit it and a piece of hardware cloth that can cover the bottom of the tank. take the pump and place it in the tank then cover it with the hardware cloth which should be elevated about 3 in off the bottom of the tank now drill holes in the bottom of the butter dish and one in the top that is large enough to fit the airline in then hot glue the airline to the top of the butter dish so it can't come out then place the top on the dish and run the other end to the pump and connect it. fill the tank with about 2in of water and place the snake inside on the hardware cloth put the top on and place the butter dish ( with the bottom facing down)on th top. turn on the pump and the water should start flowing over the snake. make sure the water is about 80 degrees and place a small heatlamp on the tank to keep the water warm. about 3 hours a day for about a week should bring him back hope this helps | ||
