I actually had been a bit puzzled by that, as I'd seen photos of very strongly patterned snakes, and plain solid snakes, both marked as Columbians. I figured somebody was confused somewhere, turns out the confused person was me!
I'm still deciding, really. The patterns on the Brazilians are nice, but I am not really fond of orange/red, I liked Columbians mostly because of the earth tone colors, particularly as they seem to show off the rainbow sheen very well. If Columbians kept their markings, I'd be Columbian all the way. As they don't, it's really six of one, half dozen of the other, I like the patterns, but I like the color too. And the hardiness is definitely a factor, as is the local availability. I may ask the pet place if they can get Brazilians in, just to see what my options are.
I've still got a month or so to make up my mind before I'll be able to get one!
