I use a rule of thumb that the snake should be able to stretch out completely at least along one side and an end. For example, I'd consider keeping a 6' snake in a 4'X2'X1' cage. Once it goes over 6', I move it up to an 8' cage. It's just a personal preference that I like my snakes to have the opportunity to stretch out. I know some folks keep very large animals in relatively small cages, such as an 8 footer in a 4' cage. I can't say that my way is any better, I just feel better about it. | ||
