I could never understand why people would think ball pythons are boring. SO they don't come in day glow colors (actually they do now...just look at the bubblegum or banana ball morphs.. but was mostly referring to wild type coloration. Can't think of any wild type snake that is in day glow colors...check out those Chondra's..) but their patterns are very interesting with colors ranging from very dark to very light, yellows, oranges, rich golden browns, chocolate browns and cinnamon browns..

They do like to hide but when they have secure hiding places, they come out exploring just as often as most of my other snakes (my BRB's are more active...but may be because they are also bottomless pits...and are always hungry. They come out looking for food every time I clean other cages around them, even if I just fed them a few days before, and I feed them medium to large rats..or sometimes several small adult rats...so they are not under fed).

Ball pythons are very popular snake pets...just like corn snakes and other colubrids...but for a nice python that is pretty, calm, nice girth that doesn't reach huge size, ball pythons are way up there in choices.

BRB I didn't really find all that much difficult to care for, just a bit more humidity and actually less heat than my ball pythons...and of course a bigger cage. They did quite well with me. Of course babies I would keep in much more humid conditions than I do adults, simply because they dehydrate so much faster.

When I have my ball pythons out, (well except for two yearlings...they are not as used to being handled as my older ball pythons), they are active, exploring and certainly don't sit still.. But then again I don't keep them out for very long.

Oh and with a ball python..I don't have to worry about it trying to tie up my hands like my BRB female likes to do...mostly because i don't want her to get into the couch where I may loose her.
