Hello,
I posted this in the wrong forum so posted it here instead.
I am new to chams (Purchased my first last night) but not knew to reptiles. My last was a bearded dragon that lived to be 9.5 years old.
If you look in the primary cham forums you'll see picts and info about my cage setup, so I won't go over that here.
What I'm wanting to know about is the feeding. I want to do free roaming at some point, but right now I want to feed the cham out of a bowl or something so that I can monitor his feeding and make sure he is getting enough.
I have placed a smooth sided metal mixing bowl that is about 3.5" deep and 4" in diameter in the middle of the cage surounded by my hibiscus so that he can climb down close and get them from any angle. Does this sound correct? I have heard that you don't want to use a clear or see-through bowl because the cham might try to feed through the bowl because they see the movement.
I'm sticking with pin-head and small crix for now as that is what the pet store has been feeding him. I have the Calcium dust for most feedings and the dust with D3 for 2-3 times a month.
Any other thoughts/hints? I did all the research I could prior to purchasing and I want to be sure I do the best I can. Thanks! ----- 0.1 Feline (Kelly)
