What state was it found & what state do you want to release it? I'm only asking as I'm in PA but go to Jeresey,NY; & vice versa for Jersey & NY residents. In which case there may not be a population in you area so it would be futile to release it there. I admit though some species like eastern boxes,eastern painteds, snappers have population where I could reintroduce fresh blood if one was found from another area. but I'm not sure about the species you found.
