ALL of my larger snake cages come with a lock. Nobody can accidentally get in them. If I had small children around I'd also keep all the keys put away.

Secondary containment, I have a dedicated snake room that while the smaller ones could slither out under the door, again, none of the bigger ones could get out. Again, a lock on that door with kids could be prudent.
