That depends on whether or not you actually mean "waterproofing" it, making it able to hold water, as in a wooden aquarium.



Since you're asking this in the "Monitor" forum I'll assume you mean to make it water resistant, which is usually all that's required for a monitor's cage.



There are several different things you could use but a lot of people in the "Cage & Habitat" section here say that a water-based poly is the easiest to use and works good.



Wish I could tell ya from experience but time just hasn't permitted me, yet. I've had all my cage-building materials for over a month now but no time to git 'er done.
