I have two females that take them from my fingers as soon I put them up there. The male is a bit slower. If he waits too long, I cut the tips of the roaches feet off so the roach can't climb. Then I put it in the feed dish.
Also, if you refrigerate a roach for 3-4 minutes(after putting it in a container), it will fall over on it's back & you can grab it pretty easily. This mainly works best with climbers. I use this with the Lobsters from time to time.
The Cricket Cup works great for putting roaches in. It has a lid that turns with a hole in the top (careful though, it's brittle/cheap plastic & will break easily). Put your roaches in the evening or at night, this is when roaches are most active. You can put them in the frig come feedin time the next day for easy pickin. Throw some vegies & a peice of dog/cat food in the container for some last min gut loading of your roaches.
Roaches are a bit more trouble as feeders than crickets but they are easier to raise. Probably better nutritionally too.
