When you aquire a new pet you should always take it to a qualified vet for a "well pet checkup". Even a snake needs to go to the vet. I realize it's a hassle trying to find a Herp Vet that close, but it's still a good idea. Most people have to drive an hour or more, just to find a "good vet" for their reptile.

If you feel you boa is doing something it shouldn't be....

Well, a qualified Herp Vet can tell you if it's something to be concerned about.

It's very hard if not "impossible" to diagnose an illness, if your boa has one, over the forums.

Most likely, if you care for your boa properly, there's nothing wrong with it.

Since you're concerned about this "popping" you should take it to the vet.
