Mite Questions???

i read in an archived post that nix lice treatment is effective for snake mites. Is this really safe, the post i read said to spray a dilluted solution directly on entire animal. i am somewhat leery(sp?) of doing this without getting other opinions from more experienced keepers. PLZ help
