First off, mites suck!!!! LOL

I have lots of money tied up in my collection so...

Everything coming in goes through quarantine.

I don't cut corners on mite control to save a few dollars. Like you posted, the nix is supposed to be safe as are pam and maybe some other treatments.

I myself will spend the few extra dollars and get Provent-a-mite and reptile relief. When used as directed, in combination, in my collection, they have erradicated not only two instances of mites found immediately on incoming animals but also a more extensive outbreak from mites missed at first inspection. ie mites laid eggs and hatched out more of the nasty lil blood suckers

Those are my only experiences so all I can really attest to!

One other thought, besides the one or two active (effective) ingredients in any treatment you use, there are other ingredients in there. It's those ingredients I would worry about, the so called inactive ingredients. Nothing saying there is an inactive ingredient in a product not intended for use on reptiles that could be harmful to them.
