as a very small time hobbiest... in 03 I made approx $950 from 2 litters. I wholesaled almost one of the entire litters, gave one away in a contest and gave one to a friend when he bought another one. I also spent money making a rack for the babies, buying the tubs, buying flexwat, thermostat and then feeding all those babies for about 3-6 months, they were not the easiest to sell since they were just normal poss hets in the one big litter which was why I ended up selling them cheaper to a local pet store out in vegas. In the end, I pretty much came out even, maybe a profit of $100.
I had big ideas about making it into a business back in the day with all these breeding ideas mapped out for the next 5 years, blah blah, I'm happy just doing it every once in a while now and using the funds to help pay for all the upkeep.
Just my experience. ----- 'There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."' -Rainshadow
