Posted by: thafathaa at Mon Sep 10 14:06:11 2007 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by thafathaa ] I use computer fans mounted to a hole I drill in the side. I also drill much smaller holes in the "roof" and upper sides of the cage. I will post more pics to demonstrate. The water I assure you is changed daily, I enjoy doing it as it only provides me with another chance to gaze on and handle my snakes. The cages are a dream. I am no novice at herps. Been doin my thing for over 20 years, since I was 10 or 11. The cages in quistion are the best I have come accrost. Better than Exo-Tera or any comercial cage easily. They are versitile and easilly modded up with fans (vents), misters, drip systems, heat tape, ect.. They have no corners (everything is rounded)and slopes towards the front (were door is) makeing cleaning a breaze and over saturation virytuially impossable. Being that they have no corners or rough edges provided to them via the cage, I provide suitabe areas of an abrasive nature to aid in sheading and such. ie. The water bowl. Please trust me when I say that this provides no danger to the snakes and is rather beneficial. They are not going to slit there throat getting a drink. lol. I also do not house my snakes "comunially". They all have there own, individual cages. I do however often display more than one snake, and often more than one species of snake together. Being a hobiest breader, I have found it beneficial to introduce the snakes young, thereby desensitizing them to each other and determining compatablaty and identifying potential pairings. This is always supervised. [ Hide Replies ]
