Normal breeding produces oddball

I had 6 eggs from a pair of plain old pueblan milk snakes.

A week ago they started hatching.

One of them went hellishly bad over time with mold.

Last night the smell was bad, 4 babies were out, I figured the one with mold was obviously bad, there were maggots and little flies, and the one that was attached to it wasn't looking so good either. There were weird blotches on it and a little mold.



So I put them in the garbage.

Couple minutes later I got curious as to if there was anything in the egg with the least amount of mold.

So I got the eggs.

And cut it open.

And the baby inside started moving. I cut a little window for it.. And went to sleep.



This morning the baby was poking out a little.

I could tell from the start it wasn't exactly a prize snake.

It didn't have eyes.

And it's mouth was messed up.



About half an hour ago I went to see if it made any progress.

It came out of the egg completely.

Unfortunately it went straight into the water bowl.

It was dead when I found it.



It would've been a keeper as far as pueblan milks go.

It's pretty much 95% bi-colored, with red in 2 places.

I'm tempted to keep back 1.1 of it's siblings to see if I could produce something like it in the future.

One of the siblings has a couple aberrancies as well as some nice looking bands.
