At the moment my year and a half old yellow ackie is ovulating, I'm relatively certain. I'm not sure what I should be expecting at the moment, she has ballooned this month and I'm wondering if she's made the jump from ovulating to gravid? Her weight had been steady at around 135 grams throughout the Spring, but it shot up to the low 160s at the beginning of summer and I witnessed copulating between her and her male cagemate from time to time in June and July. Well, she's now 174 grams, and appears very fat to me. What I find somewhat odd is that throughout this period she has never laid any eggs, fertile or infertile, and I'm worried that maybe she has absorbed infertiles. I witnessed copulation for the first time in over a month yesterday between her and the male, and she has been very hyper the last few days. Before she'd been submerged underground most of the time. I have her on a foot of playsand mixed with coco fiber, and it has always held burrows very well for them. I suppose it is possible that she laid at some point in August and has now fattened back up, but I've been afraid to disturb the substrate as I've been warned that that could scare away a female from laying, and cause her to become eggbound.
I've enclosed pictures of her and my question is simply, in your humble opinions, is she ovulating or possibly gravid? Thanks!

Evelyn
