understood. But they are more accurate than just measuring the substrate, no? Reason why I ask is my juvi. boa was on the cool side of the cage this AM, and there's been a cold front bringing our house temps. down, and he measured 74. He knows where the hot spot is, but is the cold spot to cool for him? HE is more of a high altitude boa...
